The OrganisationTalent Map is exclusively working with a large, multi-faceted ASX-listed group in their search for a Group External Reporting Manager. Operating across several distinct industry divisions and locations, with a growing presence across Australia, this multi-billion dollar turnover business is at an exciting stage of its development following a period of significant structural change and growth.
The RoleReporting to the Executive Director of Finance, this is a key leadership appointment within the group finance function. As Group External Reporting Manager, you will take ownership of the month-end and year-end close process across a complex multi-entity environment and serve as the benchmark for financial discipline, accountability and quality across the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and driving the month-end close calendar, holding business units and finance teams to timetables and ensuring deadlines are met without exception
- Preparation and review of the group consolidation across multiple legal entities and reporting segments, including international subsidiaries
- Leading the preparation of ASX half-year and full-year statutory financial statements in compliance with AASB standards
- Taking ownership of the group's external reporting program, including full accountability for AASB S1 and S2 sustainability disclosure standards as mandatory reporting obligations come into effect
- Preparation of board and audit committee reporting packs
- Review and continuous improvement of month-end processes, controls and procedures across the group
- Supporting the Executive Director of Finance on accounting matters, including acquisition accounting, new standard implementation and complex transactions
- Liaison with external auditors and management of the audit process
- Driving accountability across a geographically dispersed finance team
The CandidateYou are CA or CPA qualified with a strong technical accounting foundation, ideally with Big Four or mid-tier audit experience and a proven track record of operating in complex, high-volume environments. You are not a passenger; you are someone who actively drives outcomes, holds people to account and refuses to accept the status quo when standards are compromised.
You will bring:
- CA/CPA qualification and strong AASB/IFRS technical accounting knowledge
- Experience in group consolidation across multi-entity, multi-currency environments
- Demonstrated governance reporting experience, or a genuine appetite to own and develop this capability
- A natural ability to manage up, across and down, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, pushing back where required and getting the best out of teams who may be resistant to change
- Resilience, composure and a bias for action in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- The presence and gravitas to set and enforce a high standard for the finance function
This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity and sees a challenging environment not as a reason to hesitate, but as an opportunity to make a real mark.
What's on Offer - Competitive salary package circa $200,000-$220,000 + superannuation + bonus
- Eastern suburbs location
- Opportunity to be part of a significant business transformation and build something lasting
- Direct access and exposure to an Executive Director of Finance committed to raising the bar across the finance function
- Genuine scope to grow into a broader leadership role as the structure evolves
