Job Description
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you'll lead the day-to-day payroll operations for this substantial organisation. While there are no formal direct reports, you'll guide and mentor Payroll Officers to ensure timetables, compliance standards, and service expectations are consistently met.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring statutory compliance across all payroll functions including PAYG, payroll tax, workers' compensation, and superannuation
  • Processing and reviewing fortnightly payroll with discretion and accuracy, managing sensitive employee data
  • Completing payroll transactions, reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations within required timeframes
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining payroll policies and procedures
  • Providing advice and training to Payroll Officers and key stakeholders on payroll matters
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of Enterprise Agreements within the recently implemented ERP

The Candidate
You are an experienced payroll professional who has held a similar payroll position within a large, complex organisation. You understand the nuances of high-volume payroll processing and have a solid grasp of current payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  
You have:
  • Demonstrated experience processing the full range of payroll activities in a large organisational context
  • Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance obligations, and award/EBA interpretation
  • Experience using a large ERP system
  • Strong work planning, organisational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and guide others
